What's this all about?
Employee experience refers to all the interactions and experiences that an employee has had within the company, both at key moments in his or her career and in his or her daily professional life, from the first discussions prior to recruitment until his or her departure from the company (or even afterwards). It is the sum of the employee's feelings about his or her work situation. Without happy employees, there can be no satisfied customers.
The employee experience, like the customer experience, is in large part an emotional state resulting from the cumulative effect or choreography of several factors impacting an employee's work, relationships, beliefs and values, motivation and state of mind. Just as we talk about the customer journey, we can also talk about the employee journey, which can be managed throughout one's working life and during one's transactional situations with the organization.
Why is this important:
The quality of a company's relationship with its customers is correlated to the quality of the relationship it has with its own employees.
In a context where the quality of customer relations is considered strategic, the employee who has the mission will be much more efficient and will generate much more satisfaction if he is satisfied and committed to his company. It is a question of working on the quality of the employee experience as we do for the customer experience.
The employee experience must be placed at the heart of the HR strategy, because it is the experience of the employees. It is this experience that they share on social networks. The experience is also the means to engage the employee in a positive relationship, rich in meaning and sensations, with a brand and an employer brand.
Putting experience at the heart of HR strategy means putting the company at the heart of people.
